NO DATE, NO PROBLEM

A single girls guide to Valentines Day

Valentine’s Day can sometimes feel like a personal attack.

Suddenly, your Instagram feed full of roses, soft-launch proposals, and men who have mysteriously learned how to plan ahead. Restaurants are booked solid weeks in advance. Your ex has somehow found his way back into your DMs. And somehow, everyone else looks like they’re living in a rom-com while you’re just trying not to spiral.

So how do you survive the season?

Stop believing the highlight reel

Instagram is a highlight reel, but you knew that already. Stop doom scrolling You’re seeing one dinner, not the emotional backstory.

The Fix: Log off. Touch grass. Drink a cocktail.

Romanticise your life and the girlies instead

Your friends, your sisters, your emotional support coworkers—these are the relationships that have actually put in the work. They’ve held your hair back, hyped you up, and blindly backed your worst decisions. Pivot to Galentine’s. Make it about the girls. That is the real love story.

Yes, Taken Girls Need This Too

Even if you’re happily taken, you need this. Why? Because your partner is great, but do they understand your workplace lore or dissect the last episode of love island with you? Probably not.

Don’t leave the girls hanging just because you have a dinner reservation on the 14th. You need a day where the love language is purely “gossip and cocktails.”

The golden rule:

If you’re going to spiral, do it with the girls, a spicy strawberry marg in hand and plans that involve cocktails, carbs, and something gloriously bottomless. And I. might just know the place xx

Flour Child is dedicating a whole week to the girls with a bottomless brunch make over, from 9-15th of February.
