When my boss told me he wanted to run a bottomless brunch while the NFL was on, I nodded enthusiastically, opened a new tab and immediately Googled, “What the heck is the NFL?”
I needed to remain in the game, or at least look like I knew which game we were talking about.
If you’re anything like me, you need an education. Maybe your boyfriend is dragging you along. Maybe your friends are just REALLY into the sport or perhaps you heard the word “bottomless” and agreed before asking any follow-up questions.
Whatever brought you here, you need help, guidance, if you will and lucky for you, I’ve been scouring Google, ChatGPT and the heavens to bring you:

The easiest option is to copy everyone else.
When they stand up, you stand up. When they clap, you clap. When they look furious, shake your head and mutter something about the referee.
Other safe moments to cheer include:
If you accidentally cheer for the wrong team, tell everyone you were applauding the athleticism. It give very mature, somewhat neutral and completely intentional.

Some people choose their team based on family tradition or years of thoughtful sporting analysis.
We will not be doing that.
Choose your team based on:
Once you’ve chosen, you must defend them passionately, as though their performance has affected your family for generations.
Changing teams halfway through is allowed, but only if you do it quietly.
An NFL game technically contains four 15-minute quarters. You may notice that this does not result in a one-hour event (jaw on the floor finding this info out as our game day bottomless brunch goes for 3 hours….)
The clock regularly stops for incomplete passes, penalties, time-outs, possession changes and what I can only assume are dramatic purposes. A game usually runs for around three hours, which, conveniently, gives you plenty of time to eat, drink and develop an extremely personal issue with the referee.
Could you watch the NFL at home? Yea sure.
But then you’d need to organise the food, make your own drinks and sit through the entire game without a room full of people telling you when something exciting has happened.
At Flour Child, you can watch the NFL live while the drinks keep flowing and the food keeps landing on the table. Come for the game, the atmosphere, the bottomless drinks or Travis Kelce. We’re not here to question your motives. Or if you’re a super fan and attending the game we have a pre game session from 8am-10am at Flour Child Richmond.
Choose a team based on vibes. Find something vaguely sporty to wear. Practise saying, “That was a questionable call,” with enough confidence to end the conversation.
Then gather the group and join us for NFL Bottomless at Flour Child.
You might arrive knowing absolutely nothing about the NFL, but after a few drinks, you’ll be explaining first downs to anyone who will listen.
Knowledge of the game is optional. A booking is not x
