Flour Child's Hero Products:

Unpacking the Genesis of Our Hero products the Essence of tomato Pinsa Pizza and the Soft Porn Cocktail

At Flour Child, we’re big believers in one simple philosophy: if something’s already iconic, don’t

replace it – refine it. Reinvent it. Turn it into an experience and something that’s truly memorable.

Our two hero products embody this philosophy perfectly. One inspired by the world’s most

recognisable pizza, whilst the other reimagines the most ordered cocktail in Australia. Both hero

products start with something you already love… and end somewhere new and unexpected.

Let’s introduce them.

Essence of tomato

This is our elevated take on the most famous pizza globally, the Margherita pizza – a familiar classic reimagined through technique, preparation, and premium ingredients. It’s vegetarian, and designed to be both comforting and exciting for every guest.

Who created it?

Elliot – our Head Chef by day and Venue Manager by night.

What inspired it?

The idea started with the most recognisable pizza in the world: the Margherita. Elliot wanted to take something people already know, trust, and gravitate toward, and turn it into a version that encourages them to try something new while still feeling familiar and comforting.

Why is it a hero dish for us?

We wanted one pizza that truly represents us, something staff instinctively recommend and something that could become our signature. It showcases the same core ingredients we use daily, but executed with a higher level of preparation, intention, and technique. It reflects our philosophy of elevating classics rather than replacing them as well as showcasing our 48-hour fermented signature Di Marco Pinsa Romana dough.

What makes it special?

It all comes down to preparation and ingredients. Four key tomato elements including, the tomato sugo rests for 48 hours to develop depth and complexity, a medley of confit tomatoes, fior di latte that has been marinated in tomato and atomised tomato and basil oil – all working to highlight the ingredient in different forms, creating layers of flavour from a single hero component.

The Soft Porn Cocktail

Every bar knows the power of the Pornstar Martini. It has reigned as one of Australia’s most-ordered cocktails for the better part of five years.

The Soft Porn, a clarified, theatrical reinterpretation of the globally loved Pornstar Martini – bright, vibrant, and flavour-packed, but visually unexpected and texturally refined.

Who created it?

Created by Simon Kouba, Flour Child’s Venue Manager it is a clarified pornstar martini, with a prosecco jelly shot on the side and served under a cloche filled with passionfruit smoke.

What inspired it?

Simon’s favourite cocktail is the pornstar martini like many others across Australia, so the question was how can we make the most popular cocktail even better? Again having something recognisable and making it surprising whilst still approachable.

Why is it a hero dish for us?

It captures exactly what we aim to do as a venue: take something people already love and present it in a way they’ve never experienced before. It’s visually striking, flavour-forward, and consistently sparks a reaction across the venue whenever it’s served.

What makes it special?

The clarification process transforms the drink into a crystal-clear cocktail while intensifying flavour and softening texture, creating a silky finish you don’t get in a traditional version. It’s served with a prosecco jelly on the side instead of a standard shot, adding a playful textural element. Finally, passionfruit smoke fills the cloche on arrival, creating a theatrical moment that turns heads.

Both of these creations share the same DNA: classics, elevated.

They start with something people already know and love. Something recognisable. Something

safe. Then they layer in technique, preparation, and creativity until it becomes something

entirely new.
