What to wear out in Winter
We are now in the heart of winter here in Melbourne, and to say its cold, dark and depressing would be an understatement. The urge to fight that voice in your head telling you to stay in your bed is constant, but why should winter automatically mean stay in? Let’s get out!
Now, we have all fallen victim of imaging an amazing outfit in our head then we try it on and it just doesn’t look close to what we imagined, so we stress, we pull out everything from our cupboards and complain that we have nothing to wear until we finally rejoice the Grinch classic ‘That’s it, im not going’
Struggle no more, here are some winter staple tips to avoid that wardrobe meltdown
Get a coat
Investing in a good coat will be the best thing you do all winter. You can opt for a solid-coloured coat that can be paired with everything and anything, or you can use this opportunity to create a real stand out element to your outfit with leather, leopard, furry or patterned. Coats are perfect for walking to and from venues, plus once you’re inside and take it off its like a grand reveal of your actual cute outfit underneath.
Boots are your best friend
There is no chance you would catch us in the middle of winter wearing some open toed stilettos, we just aren’t that keen (no shade to those who are) But what you will find us in is some boots. They perfectly pair with the artic conditions and not to mention the rest of your winter attire. Although you need a staple pair of black boots in your cupboard, why not invest in something a little different, like some knee highs, chunky soles or snakeskin print.
Layer, layer, layer
Who said you can’t wear dresses in winter? The trick is all in the layering, bodysuits, longsleeves, stockings and scarfs are the best way to do this.
