The making of Galentine’s Day

Let’s face it, Valentine’s Day hasn’t been a date circled on the calendar in recent years for all the single ladies… but the good news is Galentine’s Day has come to change that! It’s a day to celebrate with all your favourite gal pals! A day to drink away the complications of relationships and thank each other for being the shoulder you need when times are rough.
So where did Galentine’s Day even come from? 11 years ago, it actually appeared in the TV show Parks and Recreation. Leslie Knope, a fictional character, actually invented it as an alternative to Valentine’s Day. They used the 13th of February, the day before Valentine’s Day, as a day to dress up and enjoy brunch together. It was described as a day of “Ladies celebrating ladies”.
And so, Galentine’s Day was unofficially added to the annual calendar of celebrations. It would seem that many women around the world shared the desire to recognize this “fake holiday” because it is celebrated by so many women every year!
So, if you have a group of gal pals that you want to celebrate this year, we are joining Leslie in her pursuit to celebrate ladies with a Galentine’s Day brunch session! It includes 2 hours of bottomless booze and a 1 meter pizza to share, all for $49!
