RECLAIMING YOUR WEEKDAYS

How to stop living for the weekend

Let’s have a quick vibe check.
How many times this week have you said or thought, “I just need it to be Friday”?

The workweek has somehow been branded as something to survive, pushing through five days just to earn 48 hours of freedom.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m fully here for lying horizontal and tuning into a juicy episode of MAFS. Rotting is valid. Essential, even. But life shouldn’t be something that only starts on Friday night.

There’s a difference between resting and just existing until the clock hits 5pm.

So, Why Do We Avoid Plans After Work?

I don’t have the scientific answer, but I do have some thoughts.

It’s always, “Ugh, I’m just too tired.” And like, yeah fair enough. But is it I need 12 hours of sleep tired? Or is it something else?

Let’s call it decision fatigue. We’ve just spent eight hours (give or take) staring at our laptops, retyping that email, trying our best to be a functioning adult. And quite frankly, the idea of making another decision like, What do I wear? What do we eat? Where do we go? – feels like the final straw on a Monday.

Then on top of that, there’s the couch at home idly waiting for you. Your sweatpants are calling your name and that’s just about all the convincing you need to get on the train and head home.

The effort to reward ratio feels off.

How to Make the Weekdays Your B**ch

We don’t need a complete life overhaul. We just need to sprinkle in something small. A few weekday treats.

Start with lunch

Sometimes, the only thing separating a bad day from a good one is a really good lunch. Meal prepping is a lifesaver, of course. But the same meal five times a week? No thanks. Switch it up. Leave the office. Touch grass. Grab a pinsa panino from Flour Child.

There’s a specific buzz that comes from grabbing a drink when you technically “should” be heading home to your book or Pilates class (oops). It feels mischievous. It feels deserved.

Call your work wife. Text the group chat. Debrief over something ice cold.

(Hot tip: We do 50% off drinks every Thursday & Friday, 3–7pm. Because inflation is real, but so is your need for a spritz.)

The takeaway

Stop saving your best outfits, your energy, and your joy for Saturday.
Reclaim your Tuesday. Make Thursday the new Friday. Be the person who has plans on a Wednesday.

So… see you at Flour Child sometime this week?
